Victory Reading Tutor:
STEP’s Victory Reading program equips children with academic, spiritual, and relational competencies to navigate their lives with confidence and hope. Each afternoon, tutors meet with children to read a Bible story, teach reading skills, and help with homework. The program begins September 19th and will run Monday-Thursday from 3:45-5:45 at the Calhoun Family Investment Center, 436 Calhoun Street. Tutors typically commit to one day each week. Jobs for Life Mentor:
Join STEP this fall for a transformative time of building relationships and lifting others up! Jobs for Life is a twelve-week program surrounding public housing residents with a family of mentors, instructors, class leaders, and fellow students. Mentors are needed to provide encouragement and accountability as the students overcome roadblocks, define career goals, and improve their resume and interviewing skills.
Mentors commit to Tuesday evenings for twelve weeks, beginning with Mentor Orientation on Tuesday, September 20th from 6 to 8pm. To join Jobs for Life as a mentor, please apply here: https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-adults
Elevate Mentor Teams:
Picking up at the completion of Jobs for Life, Elevate establishes mentoring teams around Jobs for Life graduates with the goal of providing fellowship, instruction, and ongoing support as they overcome roadblocks and reach their vocational goals. This is a wonderful opportunity to involve your whole family in ministry (children included) or your entire small group to support a graduate and their family! Elevate is a monthly Thursday evening commitment beginning September 15th 6-8:30 pm. Sign up here: https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-adults
